Kayleigh has no brothers and sisters as she is the first-born child. She loves dogs and says 'doggie' every time she sees a dog. She wishes to have a puppy of her own. Her parents decide to buy her a puppy of her own for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Kayleigh’s dad drives to his friend’s house to pick up a blue puppy for Kayleigh. Her mom and dad find it difficult to pick a puppy for Kayleigh because they are all very cute. The puppy becomes Kayleigh’s best friend and she names the puppy Roxy. They spend all day playing together and having fun.

A Puppy for Christmas by RyAnn Hall is a delightful story that speaks about the bonding and friendship between a little girl and her puppy. It is also a story for all dog lovers, especially those who have puppies at home, because they will be able to relate to the moments happening between Kayleigh and Roxy.
